How is a menstrual disc different from a menstrual cup?
While discs and cups are often grouped together, they work quite differently.
Menstrual discs:
- Sit high in the vaginal canal, below the cervix
- Stay in place by resting behind the pubic bone (not suction)
- Can be worn during penetrative sex
- Hold more fluid, resulting in longer wear time
Menstrual cups:
